Degree of Pluralisation

The degree of pluralisation categorises countries by the shares of the respective largest religious category. You can explore different "Datasets" and "Periods". Upper right corner: change between map and table.

By clicking on your country of interest you get more depth information.

Due to technical reasons, our data can currently only be displayed in table format and unfortunately not in the usual map format or as diagrams.

Remark: dominant = largest religious group >= 60% of total population; pluralized = largest group >= 35% and <60%; fragmented = largest/all group <35%

The Degree of pluralisation is used by the SMRE as an important indicator for rating the country data quality. See Working paper 2/18.
